Boyko shines in net, Rockets blank Raiders 4-0

KELOWNA, BC – Prince Albert shot everything but the kitchen sink at Talyn Boyko on Saturday night where the Kelowna Rockets netminder made 51 saves to shut out the Raiders 4-0 at Prospera Place.

The win is the third in a row for the Rockets, improving their record to 17-26-3-0 on the year.

Elias Carmichael led the scoring for Kelowna with two goals while Marcus Pacheco and Carson Golder also lit the lamp in the contest. Will Munro, Caden Price, Adam Kydd, Gabriel Szturc, Dylan Wightman, and Turner McMillen each had one assist in the game.

Raiders goaltender Max Hildebrand made 19 saves in the game with PA now falling to 19-27-3-0 on the campaign.

The Raiders found themselves trailing by a pair after the opening period with Pacheco and Golder finding the back of the net for the Rockets.

No scoring in the second for either team so to the third it went where Carmichael scored twice in the final frame for Kelowna to double the lead and to take the win 4-0.

The Raiders now head back east to Saskatchewan where they’ll wrap up this road trip in Swift Current against the Broncos on Friday night.
