Rebels hand Bears fourth straight loss

The Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA league-best Regina Rebels got the better of the Prince Albert Northern Bears on Thursday night, winning 7-2 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The game was the first in exactly three weeks for the Bears with their last matchup resulting in a 5-3 defeat against the Saskatoon Stars.

Tristyn Endicott had both of the goals for the Bears in the contest with both markers coming on the powerplay. Jacquelyne Chief also had two points in the game, assisting on both plays while Sasha Malenfant and Julia Cey each had one.

Greta Henderson had a hat-trick in the game while Ashley Grice also had a hat-trick, only with assists rather than goals. Brooklyn Nimegeers had a goal and an assist, P.A.’s own Stryker Zablocki had a pair of assists, and Ashley Breitkreuz, Peyton Halayka, and Avery Gottselig also scored for Regina in the game while Jada Johns and Amber Daley both had an assist.

Brooke Archer took the loss for the Bears where she made 34 saves as PA falls to 6-17-1-1 on the campaign.

Her counterpart, Chloe Sorenson had 20 stops to help the Rebels improve to 21-5-1-0 on the year.

The Black and Orange are back on the road for their next game, heading to Saskatoon to take on the Stars on Tuesday night.
