Week-long celebration planned for tri-communities in March
A week full of activities is being planned in March to mark Canada’s emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as build a sense of pride and belonging.
“The Tri-Community Celebration will take place from March 20 – 26,” an email from project coordinator Michael Fraser stated.
“It is a free event and will include many activities throughout the week. These activities will include musicians, drum groups, powwow dancers, children’s activities, commemorative murals, storytelling, and a multicultural village. A full calendar of all the events is being created and will be published when it is ready.”
The events are supported by Air Ronge, La Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. The Tri-Community Celebration is being funded in part by the Government of Canada through a $285,000 contribution from the Commemorate Canada Reopening Fund.
