The 21-year-old man charged after a high speed chase with Prince Albert police that included gunshots and a stolen vehicle will be in custody at least until next week.

Dylaney (AKA Dylan) McAdam will be back in provincial court on Feb. 28 for a show cause hearing on 11 charges.

McAdam was arrested by police on Feb. 17 on Highway 693 after a pursuit by PAPS officers.

Officers decided to extend the chase beyond city limits in the interest of public safety because the initial complaint involved two people allegedly threatened with a gun on 28th Street East.

When police found the vehicle McAdam is accused of driving, it did not stop and while in pursuit, the police vehicle was shot at.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen early Tuesday morning.

McAdam is charged with multiple gun violations, including having a prohibited weapon, driving a vehicle that had guns in it and no permit, having the serial weapon of a gun removed, dangerous driving, operating a vehicle while being pursued and violating a probation order.

In addition to the series of charges from Feb. 17, he has two earlier charges including not reporting to a probation officer as directed and theft of $120 in Melfort on May 27, 2022.

Court spent several minutes determining that Dylaney McAdam, who uses the name Dylan as well, is not the same as another person also named Dylan McAdam, who had a court appearance on an un-related matter.

The second Dylan McAdam is not charged in connection with Dylaney McAdam.
