Record-tying seven-ender sends Silvernagle to second win at Scotties
Saskatchewan’s Robyn Silvernagle tied a record Wednesday at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Silvernagle and her North Battleford team put up a seven in the eighth end of their game against Nunavut’s Brigitte MacPhail, propelling the Saskatchewan champions to a 13-4 victory at the Canadian women’s curling championship in Kamloops.
That tied a record for the highest single-end score ever at the Scotties. New Brunswick’s Andrea Crawford set the mark at the 2020 event in Moose Jaw against Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson.
Teams from Quebec accomplished the feat twice at Canadian women’s championships in the pre-Scotties era, both times against rinks from Nova Scotia.
