Patterson posts four-point night to help Mintos win final game of regular season

The Prince Albert Mintos had an offensive explosion against the Saskatoon Contacts on Monday night, coming away with a dominant 9-3 win at the Art Hauser Centre.

The win was the final one for P.A. as it was the final game of the regular season for the green and gold. Additionally, those two points boosted the Mintos from eighth to seventh in the standings as they will now face the Regina Pat Canadians in round one of the playoffs.

Nolan Patterson paved the way for P.A., netting a hat-trick and an assist. Five Mintos players had two points in the game, including Will Whitter and Konnor Watson who both had a goal and an assist while Scott McLean, Caden Dunn, and Ashton Tait tallied a pair of helpers. Simon Garchinski, Logan Pickford, Roper Blanchard, and Carter Cole also had markers on Monday while Logan Beebe, Carson Olsen, Abinet Klassen, and Owen Nelson each registered an assist.

For the Contacts, Kanye Huang, Luke Korte, and Brodie Scopick were the goal scorers while Spencer Chestolowski and Mason Karakochuk each collected assists.

Brady Holtvogt was between the pipes for P.A., making 16 saves for the win and to help the Mintos finish with a 23-18-0-3 record on the campaign.

Luke Hampton got the nod for Saskatoon where he managed 28 saves as the Contacts finished the regular season with a 27-13-0-4 record.

The Mintos now gear up for round one where they’re set to face to Regina Pat Canadians in round one of the playoffs.
