Feb 28, 2023 | 1:11 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders (24-29-3-0) look to get back to their winning ways tonight when they host the Red Deer Rebels (38-15-1-3) for the final time this season.

Prince Albert saw their five-game win streak come to an end in their last matchup against Saskatoon where they fell 3-1 in game two of a home-and-home set. While on their win streak however, the Raiders outscored their opponents 25-16 and included wins against Swift Current, Regina, and Moose Jaw while adding back-to-back overtime wins against Brandon and Saskatoon. P.A. is 6-4-0-0 in their last 10 games.

Red Deer comes into the game on a high note after winning their last matchup against Kelowna 5-1 back on Saturday night. Before the win, the Rebels lost back-to-back games 2-1 to Winnipeg and 4-1 to Medicine Hat. So far this season, Red Deer has the upper hand in the season series, leading 2-1. The Rebels are 2-3-0-0 in their last five while 5-5-0-0 in their last ten.

Home ice has played into the season series as well. Both games at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer saw the Rebels come out on top with 3-0, 6-1 wins. Meanwhile at the Art Hauser Centre, P.A. came away with a 2-1 victory back on Jan. 6.

The Raiders are back at home in their next game hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the final time this season.

An updated look at the Eastern Conference standings heading into tonight. The Raiders sit five points back of the Calgary Hitmen for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Who to Watch

Rookie Ryder Ritchie had the lone goal in last game’s loss to Saskatoon, scoring early in the third period. The 16-year-old Calgary product is looking to continue his impressive first season in the league where, thus far, he has 17 goals and 25 assists to his name. Ritchie is also tied for fifth in rookie scoring this season.

Forward Sloan Stanick potted an assist in his last outing, helping out on Ritchie’s third-period marker. The assist pushed him to 49 points on the season and now tonight, the pride of Rapid City, Manitoba will look to crack the 50-point milestone for the first time in his career.

Despite missing the scoresheet in his last contest, veteran Landon Kosior had a hot streak to remember. Before Saturday’s loss, the blue liner was riding a four-game point streak where he tallied nine points over that stretch. The Regina product also leads the Raiders in scoring with 51 points on the year.
