Raiders rally in third period, still fall short in Moose Jaw

Tikhon Chaika got the nod for PA and made 24 stops as the Raiders fall to 25-31-3-0 on the campaign.

Jackson Unger was between the pipes for Moose Jaw and made 34 saves to help the Warriors improve to 36-22-0-3 on the year.

The Warriors held a 2-0 lead after the first period with a short-handed marker from Firkus and an insurance marker from Alarie a short time later.

Moose Jaw kept rolling in the second period with a powerplay marker from Gallant to push their lead to three.

Two minutes later and the Raiders got on the scoreboard. They were on the man advantage when Oiring’s pass found Crocker in tight who pulled off a nifty move to break the goose egg.

But the Warriors had a response in the later half of the period when Yager snipped one yet again on the powerplay for Moose Jaw as they led 4-1 going into the third.

The Raiders got one back just 18 seconds into the final frame with Sorensen scoring his 22^nd of the season to cut the deficit to two.

Prince Albert kept rolling later in the period where the captain brought the Raiders to within one. Stanick worked the puck to Herman in the right circle who ripped a shot top shelf to make it 4-3 with time ticking away.

To count out the @PARaidersHockey would be a very unwise decision.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, Korczak added an empty netter for the Warriors as they took it 5-3.

The now get a few days to rest before welcoming the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Art Hauser Centre on Tuesday night.
