The Tisdale Community Library is holding its second-ever fundraiser in hopes of continuing to bring literacy to the Northeast.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it hadn’t found the need to host fundraisers. But as the material budget dropped and interest in events as well as literacy increased, the library is trying to keep up with demand.
“We can’t keep up almost with the demand,” said librarian Kelly Cushniruk. “Right after COVID, we did not have many people coming but now it’s a lot.”
She, along with branch librarian Isabel Hankins-Wilks and Charity Flowerday, head of the ‘Friends of the Tisdale Library,’ came together to get the community involved in a silent auction in hopes of raising the funds needed for updated equipment in the Library.
