First overall pick Rudolph signs with Raiders
On Thursday, May 11, the Prince Albert Raiders made Daxon Rudolph the first overall pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. Now, Rudolph has made his intent to join the team official.
The Raiders announced today, just four days after drafting Rudolph that he had signed his WHL Standard Player Agreement with the club. As a signed player, Rudolph is eligible to play in exhibition games.
“It feels great being selected (and signing) with such a great organization,” Rudolph said. “I’m really proud of myself, and I’m ready to get some work done in Prince Albert. They love winning and they’ve had some recent success, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it in the future.”
A smooth-skating, puck-moving blueliner, Rudolph dominated the U15 prep ranks with the Northern Alberta Xtreme program this past season. He posted 50 points in just 30 regular season games, which he followed up with an impressive five goals and 12 points in five playoff games. One of those goals was a championship winner in overtime against RHA Kelowna.
