P.A. & northeast Sask. underway extreme heat warnings

Jun 4, 2023 | 3:18 PM

Several areas around the province are under extreme heat warnings.

This includes Prince Albert, in the northeast, and in the south around Regina.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the temperature will hover around the high 20 C and creep into the low 30 C over the next three days. The humidity is expected to make the temperature feel like 38 C.

These areas are also looking at multiple thunderstorms due to the extreme heat.

The weather agency said people choosing to go outside should take extra caution as heat stroke, heat exhaustion, and dehydration are very possible. To avoid this, people should drink water regularly and take breaks in cool places multiple times per day.

The temperatures are expected to remain in the high 20 C for most of the week. The extreme heat warning will end once the humidity comes down.
