Shellbrook robbery leads to high-speed chase going to Debden

The thieves did not comply and continued fleeing with a paNOW reader saying he was driving down the highway and had to take the ditch to avoid being hit.

He said the thieves were driving in the wrong lane pursued by multiple police cruisers.

When the truck got to Debden, the man exited and tried to run away but was caught and arrested shortly after.

Police found an air gun in the vehicle.

Neil Michel, 34, of Pelican Narrows is now charged with robbery with a firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, failure to comply with an undertaking and carrying a concealed weapon.

He will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 26.

The woman in the vehicle is still wanted by police and has not been identified.

She is described as having dark hair and when last seen was wearing sunglasses, a plaid top or jacket, dark pants, and light-coloured shoes.
