Trial date secured in Starblanket murder case
A trial date has now been secured for the first person charged after human remains were found inside a burnt-out home in Prince Albert.
Loretta Sakebow is accused of committing second-degree murder in the death of Jeremy Starblanket.
She will be tried by judge and jury beginning the week of Oct. 3. A pre-trial conference on Friday allotted two weeks for the trial.
The homicide case dates back to March 20, 2021, when residents in the 500 block of Fifth St. E., reported hearing an explosion and several popping sounds, then saw a bunch of black smoke coming from a house.
