Watrous RCMP searching for overdue kayaker

Watrous RCMP are currently searching for a missing kayaker who went out on Little Manitou Lake Monday morning.

An adult man told his family he was going kayaking around 10 a.m. and hasn’t been seen since.

Local police have been searching the water and shore for him since, with the assistance of area residents, Humboldt Fire Department, Saskatoon Police Service’s Air Support Unit and the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA).

The kayak has now been recovered, however, the search for the male continues, with an increased police presence on Little Manitou Lake and the surrounding area.

The report of the overdue kayaker came into Watrous RCMP around 6 p.m. later that day (June 26), after his family called when he did not return as expected.
