Saskatoon man charged after drug bust in La Ronge

A 29-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing a number of charges related to drug trafficking, following a traffic stop in La Ronge on Canada Day.

Ryan Murray was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that was stopped on La Ronge Avenue.

Upon observing alcohol in plain sight in the vehicle, officers arrested Murray.

During this time and subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located and seized a firearm, 29 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash and trafficking paraphernalia.

In addition to possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), Murray has also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

He was scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Tuesday morning. The police investigation continues.
