Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Black Lake

RCMP say they have made one arrest after a serious incident in Black Lake earlier this week.

On Wednesday at around 3:40 a.m., Black Lake RCMP received a report of an injured person on Disain Road in Black Lake.

An investigation found that two people approached a man where a firearm was later discharged injuring the man. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of further investigation, officers identified and found one suspect involved and arrested him at a home in the community on Thursday.

Brent Cook, 30, was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder with a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, and unlawfully causing bodily harm.

Cook is scheduled to appear in court in La Ronge Provincial Court on Friday via telephone.
