Meadow Lake RCMP investigating homicide at local business

After advising the public of an increased police presence at a Meadow Lake business earlier this week, RCMP have now revealed the incident is a homicide investigation.
Police and EMS responded immediately to reports of a shooting around 5:30 a.m. on July 18. Upon arrival, the first responders located the victim who sustained a serious life-threatening injury. The 23-year-old Meadow Lake man was transported to hospital where he was declared deceased.
Members of the North Battleford Forensic Identification Services and the Emergency Response Team attended the scene and gathered evidence.
RCMP Major Crimes now has hold of the investigation. The death is being investigated as a homicide. Witness interviews are taking place and police continue to gather evidence to determine the timeline of the man’s death.
