Turtleford/Glaslyn RCMP are releasing details about an alleged abduction in the area from last month.

On July 25, RCMP said they received news of an abduction and discovered that a woman was being held against her will in a vehicle.

Several detachments including Spiritwood, Loon Lake and North Battlefords assisted in looking for the woman.

Officers later found the woman and the suspect vehicle on Ministikwan First Nation. The woman was not injured.

One man, who initially gave a false name to police, was eventually arrested. Investigators properly identified the man as Angus Heathen, 32 from Prince Albert. Heathen was breaching a sentence order at the time of his arrest.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a firearm, ammunition, a baton, a knife and dried cannabis.

Heathen faces a number of charges including possessing a prohibited firearm, fraud, and resisting a peace officer.

He previously appeared in court on July 27 in North Battleford.
