As students went back into classrooms last week, Prince Albert police were outside handing out tickets and warnings to drivers who failed to follow traffic rules.

Police said 39 tickets were issued for speeding in school zones and 99 warnings were given.

They also dispensed six other traffic safety fines and seized two vehicles.

School zones came back into effect on Sept. 1 and will remain that way until June 30.

Prince Albert police are also reminding drivers that any school zone in Prince Albert is 30 km/hr, starting at 8:00 am and going until 5:00 pm.

Drivers should also remember that U-turns are banned in all school zones during the same period.
