Tatchell Family to be inducted into Battlefords’ Business Hall of Fame

It will be a proud day for The Tatchell Family as they will be inducted into the Business Hall of Fame at this year’s Battlefords Business Excellence (BBEX) Awards gala.

The Battlefords and District Chamber of Commerce along with the BBEX Awards committee made the announcement on Monday.

The Tatchell Family used to own and operate “The Northern Auto Parts” in North Battleford.

“I think the Battlefords is very fortunate,” Linda Machniak, chief operating officer with the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce, told battlefordsNOW. “We have several businesses that have long and storied histories serving customers in the Battlefords and area, and Northern Auto Parts is one of them, [with] 93 years of serving business in the Battlefords, all in one family, over three generations… We’re excited to share the award with the Tatchell Family.”

Three of the most recent operators, brothers Don, Jack, and Alan, who ran the business, will be present with their families for the awards gala induction.

The chamber said in its release the Tatchell Family business in the Battlefords benefitted many residents over the years, as well as the company’s former employees, and the community as a whole.

“The Northern Auto Parts” stood for first-class service and professional knowledge, delivered in a friendly atmosphere, the chamber stated.

It added that the BBEX committee made its decision to induct the Tatchell Family due to the longevity, success, and family continuity of their business.

“We are excited to announce the Tatchell Family as the inductee to the Hall of Fame,” BBEX Awards committee co-chair Samantha Weber said. “This induction is just a small thank you to them for being part of the Battlefords business community for over nine decades.”

The induction will be held as part of the 29th BBEX Awards gala on Nov. 8 at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts. This marks the third induction into the Battlefords Business Hall of Fame.
