RCMP arrest three in Sucker River after cocaine & loaded firearm found in home

Three people have been arrested after a large amount of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun was found at a home in Sucker River.

The La Ronge Crime Reduction Team searched a home on Tuesday as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Inside they found the firearm, ammunition, around 172 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

A child was also found and taken to a safe location.

A 37-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, who are not being named to protect the identity of the kid, were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime, and failing to provide the necessities of life.

A 16-year-old boy from Richmond Hill, Ontario is also facing eight charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All three made an appearance in a La Ronge provincial courtroom on Thursday.
