Hawks return to the ice versus Weyburn
After an eight-day break that saw the Nipawin Hawks see some changes off the ice, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) team is back in action Wednesday.
The Hawks will entertain the Weyburn Red Wings at the Centennial Arena as the SJHL club starts their five-game December schedule. Following the recent trades to add Liam McInnis and moving out three roster players Head Coach Tad Kozun said the team now must focus on the next couple weeks.
“The biggest message is, don’t be looking at the Christmas break,” Kozun said. “When the five games are over the guys will be out of here, they can go home for Christmas and do their thing, but we have to take care of business.”
Weyburn is making their first trip to Nipawin this season. The teams met on Oct. 20 at Crescent Point Place, a game the Red Wings cruised to a 6-2 win.
