Battlefords Humane Society busy this winter
The Battlefords Humane Society has been quite active to start the year off as the shelter has seen a large intake of furry animals this winter. The shelter is now at the brink of capacity.
With help from foster homes, Lakeland Veterinary and Saskatoon’s Cat Café to keep their animals, the Humane Society has seen plenty of animals dropped off at the shelter.
“We have close to 200 animals in our care right now,” Battlefords Humane Society Treasurer Laurel Frank said. “We’re low on room, we’re very low.”
The number of animals received is unprecedented for the shelter as this year’s intake blows away what the shelter had planned for this year.
