Hawks suffer ninth straight loss to Bombers
The Nipawin Hawks found themselves coming home empty again after another trip to Flin Flon.
The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) team lost 4-1 to the Bombers Wednesday, now the Hawks’ ninth straight setback against their Sherwood Division rivals. Nipawin beat Flin Flon in their first meeting last season, but haven’t picked up a point since. It’s also been nearly two years since Nipawin has collected a win at the Whitney Forum.
Head Coach Tad Kozun joined the postgame show on 750 Beach Radio and praised the top-ranked Bombers group, but he said his team can play with anyone in the SJHL.
“We’re not worried about the speed of the game at all with the group we’ve got and the way we want to play,” he said. “It comes down to little details and guys making sure they do things right all the time. You can’t cheat the game and when your focus and preparation doesn’t focus on details then obviously you will be on the wrong end of the score like we were tonight,” he said.
