The Prince Albert Raiders managed to salvage a single point in Calgary on Sunday, falling to the Hitmen 5-4 in overtime at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The extra-time loss wraps up the Raiders second three-in-three in as many weekends, following their 6-4 loss in Edmonton on Friday and 2-1 defeat in Red Deer on Saturday. The loss also wraps up the season series with Calgary as Prince Albert nearly got the sweep, beating the Hitmen in three out of their four meetings.

The contest went back and forth through the first and majority of the second until Aiden Oiring managed to pot one on the man advantage with less than three minutes to go in the period. The Raiders held the lead until the midpoint of the third when Keets Fawcett scored to tie it and force overtime. Unfortunately for P.A., Maxim Muranov potted the game winner just 29 seconds in to win it for Calgary.

Along with Oiring, Sloan Stanick, Matej Kubiesa, and Harrison Lodewyk also found the back of the net for the Raiders. Stanick and Lodewyk both added an assist in the game as did Jacob Hoffrogge, Krzysztof Macias, Justice Christensen, and Niall Crocker.

Joining Fawcett and Muranov as the goal scorers for the Hitmen were Ben Kindel, Ethan Moore, and David Adaszynski. Muranov and Adaszynski also tacked on two assists in the game Fawcett, too, managed a helper. Oliver Tulk, Dax Williams, and Fraser Leonard were the other assist getters for Calgary.

In goal, Max Hildebrand stopped 33 shots as the Raiders fall to 19-22-0-4 on the campaign.

For the Hitmen, Alex Garrett turned aside 29 to collect the win and help Calgary improve to 18-18-5-1.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

The Hitmen broke the ice midway through the first period via Kindel before the Raiders swiftly answered. Stanick took a pass from Hoffrogge and ripped a shot through the screen past Garrett.

It remained 1-1 until Calgary retook the lead near the 12-minute mark of the second before Prince Albert again pulled back to even, this time off the stick of Kubiesa who one-timed a Christensen pass into the goal.

The teetertottering continued nine seconds later as the Hitmen scored to make it 3-2. Less than three minutes later, a loose puck in front of the goal was jammed home by Lodewyk to retie it at three.

Towards the end of the period, the Raiders found themselves on the powerplay and managed to cash in. Stanick, Crocker, and Oiring go tic-tac-toe to give Prince Albert their first lead of the game.

Midway through the third though, Fawcett managed to roof it glove side to knot it up at four and force overtime. Just 29 seconds into the extra frame, Muranov managed to get the puck off the draw in the Raiders zone, create some space, and wire a backhander past Hildebrand to win it for the Hitmen.

The Raiders are back at home for their next contest when they host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
