Mann-Northway Northern Bears return after battling top teams from Western Canada
After travelling over 800 kilometres, the Mann-Northway Northern Bears are back home from a big tournament in Winnipeg.
The Bears participated in the 11th Annual Female World Sport School Challenge, an invitational tournament hosted by St. Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg. The weekend event welcomed teams from Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C., and Manitoba.
“To make the bus trip to Winnipeg was obviously a long trip, but I thought the girls responded well to that and came in out in our first game and won our first game,” said Head Coach Steve Young.
The Bears won their opening game 3-1 over the Winnipeg Avros with Ella Clarke, Zada Summach, and Mikiya Anderson scoring in that game.
