Man facing drug, weapons charges after trying to evade police on Waterhen Lake FN
A man received numerous charges, including charges for drug related offences, after being arrested on Waterhen Lake First Nation following an investigation.
Police report Meadow Lake RCMP started an investigation in January 2024 into drug trafficking activity on Waterhen Lake First Nation.
As part of this investigation, they attempted to stop a target vehicle in their detachment area several times, but the vehicle, a pick-up truck, continued to flee from the officers.
As a result of their investigation, Meadow Lake RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services worked together to locate the truck on Waterhen Lake First Nation on Feb. 1. Officers used a remote-piloted aircraft to track its movements. When the vehicle stopped, officers moved quickly to block it in, so it was unable to drive away.
