A 28-year-old woman was sentenced to time served of just over 180 days after pleading guilty to throwing meth over the Prince Albert Correctional Centre fence in 2021.

Brianna Rose Bird used a slingshot to shoot a baggie of meth over the PACC fence but was caught.

Bird also entered a guilty plea to robbing Sylken’s Convenience Store using an Air Soft pistol, which she fired off several times during the robbery.

“You can’t throw things over the Correctional Centre fence,” Judge Healey told Bird, who has been in custody for about four months.

“You have a very bright future, but not if you keep doing the things you are.”

This is Bird’s first criminal offence. She appeared by camera from where she is incarcerated and began her hearing by talking about voices she hears that she believes are the Holy Spirit.

Bird also pleaded guilty to four counts of failing to make court appearances, which she was given a 60-day sentence for, concurrent to the one she had served.

Before finishing the hearing, Healey advised her to stop using both alcohol and meth as they were causing her to make bad decisions.

A DNA order and a weapon ban were also ordered.
