One Hundred Women Who Care in Melfort to help local charity
A new initiative for the Melfort area will help support a local charity.
Melfort is now home to a “One Hundred Women Who Care” chapter, where women in the area help support a local non-profit organization.
“One hundred women get together four times a year and they each chip in $100, so there’s $10,000 in the pot,” explained organizer Richelle Rogers. “They have three charitable organizations present to them that night and then they vote by secret ballot of who of those three they feel should receive the funds.”
Rogers said at last word they were very close to having 100 women sign up for the initiative. Nominations for charities to be considered are made by the women themselves.
