Apr 7, 2024 | 12:00 PM

A vital service in Saskatchewan is reaching out for support.

The STARS’ annual Critical Care on the Air Radiothon runs April 9 and 10 and will be broadcasted across 40 radio stations in those province including those owned by Pattison Media.

“Every dollar raised helps STARS be the best hope in a worst case scenario for every one of our patients,” said Katherine Emberly, President and CEO of STARS. “By joining us on the air to learn more about the work we do and the impact that your support has, you are helping STARS grow stronger.”

Throughout the two days, community members will hear courageous and generous stories from the Very Important Patients (VIPs), members of the STARS flight crew, community allies, and many more. And leading up to the radiothon, four Very Important Patients are fundraising in different areas of the province

Each VIP, who have each been personally affected by STARS, has personally pledged to raise $3,000 dollars towards STARS $350,000 goal for the Radiothon.

Those looking to support the fundraising efforts of STARS VIPs Easton Daae, Carter Yunick, Troy Duncan, and Ryan Straschnitzki can donate to their campaigns at criticalcareontheair.ca.

To donate during the two-day broadcast, community members can call the Viterra Lifeline at 1-877-50-STARS.

BHP, the presenting sponsor, will be generously matching the first $50,000 in donations.

And when you use the hashtag #STARScareontheair on all social media channels, Saskatchewan Blue Cross will donate $100 up to $10,000 to STARS.
