P.A.’s Zablocki leads Regina to victory on Day 4 at Esso Cup

Stryker Zablocki was a force to be reckoned with during Day 4 at the Esso Cup on Wednesday.

The Prince Albert product lit the lamp not once, not twice, but three times for a hat-trick while tacking on an assist during the Rebels 6-2 rout of the tournament host Thompson-Okanagan Lakers.

With the four-point outing, the 17-year-old now leads Regina at the tournament in points with eight (6g, 2a) while co-leading in goals.

At the time of this article’s publication, she also leads the tournament in points with her teammate, Berlin Lolacher, sitting one point behind her with seven while Sydney Bowness of the North York Storm (Ontario) holds the fifth spot with five points.

Following Wednesday’s win, the Rebels are now 2-0-0-2 (W-OTW-L-OTL) and currently sit first in the standings.

Zablocki and Regina can clinch a playoff berth when they wrap up the preliminary round on Thursday afternoon. The Rebels are set to take on Nova Scotia’s Northern Subway Selects in a rematch from the 2023 Esso Cup bronze medal game which saw Regina take it, 5-1.

Puck drop is set for 3:00 p.m. local time, or 4:00 p.m. in Saskatchewan.
