Man charged after dozens of bottles of alcohol found during traffic stop

Dozens of bottles of alcohol, intended for sale at Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation, have been confiscated by police.

It’s the result of a traffic made on Sunday by La Ronge RCMP on Highway 102.

In total, they seized 50 bottles of hard liquor, 48 coolers and a box of wine.

As a result of continued investigation, an adult male is charged with unlawful keeping of beverage alcohol, Section 138(1), Alcohol and Gaming Act.

He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on May 27.

Saskatchewan RCMP remind residents that it’s illegal to sell alcohol without a license. Licensing is in place to ensure alcohol is sold in a safe and responsible way.

Any information relating to the illegal sale of alcohol should be reported to your nearest RCMP detachment by dialing 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
