Fox and Bear was released in November 2022 and it’s a story revolving around a fox and a bear who live together in the woods. The two live happily until Fox decides to make life more productive and efficient. When Fox’s inventions set off events that complicate life in unexpected ways, Bear is faced with a difficult decision.

Seagull Island – kiyāsko-miniscikos, which is written in Cree and English, was inspired by Charles’s memories of gathering eggs with his grandson in northern Saskatchewan.

Körner’s novel Qaqavii was a winner at the 2021 Saskatchewan Book Awards (Young Adult), as was When We Had Sled Dogs: A Story from the Trapline: ācimowin ohci wanihikīskanāhk, a collaboration with late local Elder Ida Tremblay in 2020 (Children’s Literature/Publishing in Education).

In 2018, Körner and Bernice Johnson-Laxdal won with their collaboration When the Trees Crackle with Cold: A Cree Calendar. Pīsimwasinahikan (Children’s Literature).

The 2023 Saskatchewan Book Awards Gala and Awards Ceremony will be held on May 3 in Regina. The master of ceremonies is James Hope Howard, president of the Saskatchewan Library Association and the director of the Pahkisimon Nuyeʔáh Library System located in Air Ronge.
