‘Best customer service I’ve experienced.’

‘Breakfast sausages blew my mind. The bacon didn’t shrink! The garlic coil taste and texture was amazing.’

The experience of getting animals butchered ‘was flawless…every cut was great and the price was fair.’

‘Will never consider going anywhere else.’

‘If you care about eating quality meat – you need to go there.’

The online reviews of Northern Meats paint a pretty clear picture. This place is awesome.

Located at 101-2nd Street West in Spiritwood, SK, Northern Meats is a family run business by owners Bryce and wife Erica Olson.

Capitalizing on the resurgence of local food and artisanal products, they opened shop in 2022 and have been specializing in smoking, curing, butchering and packing meat ever since.

It’s not uncommon for customers from the Battlefords, Prince Albert or other outlying areas to make the drive to Northern Meats for its selection of fresh products and services. Their on-site slaughter and butcher service is especially handy for producers and hunters.

“Our selection is something people aren’t really used to around here because we offer such a wide variety – whether that’s local beef or pork, as well as wild meats like moose, elk, bison, deer and antelope,” said Bryce.

With custom made spices and rubs available, Northern Meats is more than happy to tailor any product to meet a client’s taste.

If you’re looking for a snack, stop by the deli counter for some cold cuts or try the dill flavoured jerky or pepperoni sticks customers often rave about. Need a full meal deal? Choose from a selection of appetizers and main courses including breaded pickles, fresh steaks, burgers, smoked salmon, smoke cheeses, pizza, perogies and potato salad – just to name a few options. They often bring in specialty items like fresh baked bread and buns from the popular Nestor’s Bakery in Saskatoon. For those with a sweet tooth, Erica’s homemade pies are a hit, but it’s her cinnamon buns that really have people talking.

“They tend to go over pretty well,” Bryce said.

The Olson’s invite you to stop by Northern Meats to give them a try. Call them at 306-841-7702 to inquire about deliveries to communities outside of Spiritwood. And follow them on social media to find out about special deals like ‘Buy 2, Get 1 Free’ bacon sales.

Mmmmm…did somebody say bacon?!
