House destroyed by fire

Fire destroys home south of Melfort

A house is a total loss after a major blaze south of Melfort.

Melfort Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene just before midnight Monday, May 20.

The house was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived to the scene, and the roof had already collapsed.

Fire crews managed to contain the fire before it spread to nearby structures or bushes.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters spent about five hours at the site, and the department thanks EMS, RCMP, SaskPower, and SaskEnergy crews for their assistance at the call.
