An alert for possible tornado activity and severe thunderstorms in North Battleford has been issued after a funnel cloud was seen in the area.
The Voyent Alert, a mass notification service used by the city, advised people to get to shelter if needed and avoid “unnecessary” travel.
Environment Canada’s forecast for the Battlefords area showed a ‘risk of thunderstorms’ for Wednesday afternoon. As of 5 p.m., however, the weather service had not issued any extreme weather warnings or watches.
