Local band Set to Flames released a new single today called Forgotten.

“It is definitely in the rock realm,” said Shelby Savoie, who wrote the lyrics and provides the vocals for the song.

“It’s very upbeat and very energetic. To me, personally, it kind of gives me the vibe like the band Metric.”

The song is now available on all major platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube. Savoie explained the song was written a few years ago, but was recently redone with Cody Docken on drums, Nick Heppner on bass and guitar, as well as Troy Patterson on guitar.

“We kind of took a bit of a break for a couple of years, but now we are back,” she said.

“This song was from prior to that. I think we wrote it back in 2021, but now that we have a couple new guys in the band, they were able to put their own tracks on it and give it its own spin. Even though it has been written and recorded for a while, it definitely got a revamp and kind of new life into it, so it is exciting to release it now.”

Savoie noted the song is about past and present relationships that can change over time for good or bad. The song is meant to be a single for a new upcoming album, which will include five or six songs on a small EP.

The single follows a self-entitled album called Set to Flames released in 2021.

With two new members, Savoie mentioned they have been playing publicly more often. The band performed at Core Days in May and plan to play at a car show in Patterson Park on June 8. They are also hoping to host their own event on Halloween.

“We’re a full band again, so we are able to do performances again, so that’s super exciting,” she said.
