The opening dates for the 2024-25 WHL season have been released, along with the matchups.

Opening night for the league is on Friday, Sept. 20, and for the Prince Albert Raiders, they are set to embark on the campaign at home when they host P.A.’s own Tanner Howe and the Regina Pats.

Then the following night on the 21, the Raiders will trek south for their first road game of the season when they visit the defending WHL champion Moose Jaw Warriors at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Looking back at last year, the Raiders took the season series against Regina winning 4-2 while outscoring the Pats 24-18. Among the returning players, Ryder Ritchie led the team in scoring with nine points (2g, 7a) while Aiden Oiring wasn’t too far behind with six (2g, 4a).

Against Moose Jaw, P.A. only managed two wins while the Warriors took the season series, 6-2. Both triumphs came at the beginning of the season when the Raiders took the first two meetings, winning 4-0 and 6-3. Oiring led the Raiders in points against Moose Jaw with six (2g, 4a), while Ritchie had two goals and three assists, and Christensen had one goal and four assists.

As for the rest of the games, the 2024 WHL Preseason schedule and complete 748-game WHL Regular Season schedule for 2024-25 will be announced the week of June 24.
