Napatāk Ramble organizers anticipate attendance growth for 2024

The Napatāk Ramble continues to grow and draw a lot of attention and involvement from people from inside and outside of the tri-communities.

“We provide educational programming for youth in music, art and dance; a professional venue for local artists to present their music and art; opportunity for local food vendors to share their unique flavours; a positive family-oriented event that encourages participation and community, volunteerism and an overall appreciation for the arts,” said acting chairperson Jim Burr.

“As well the festival draws artists and music lovers to La Ronge from across Canada benefiting local business and tourism.”

This year’s event begins July 5 and continues until July 6 with live performances, an arts market, workshops and food vendors starting at 4 p.m. each day with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. The Kid’s Camp will be held on July 4.

On average, the festival draws about 500 attendees. This year, for the first time, it is being held on the second weekend in July rather than the July long weekend. Organizers expect this will increase the number of people who are able to attend.

“Ticket sales are tracking steady like they usually do,” Burr noted.

“Tickets are still available, but anyone that wants to attend best get them sooner rather than later as sales typically ramp up at this time. Buy them in-person at Marker 47 Cafe or Lac La Ronge Tourism Centre or online at Eventbrite.”

This year, organizers are taking a new approach to the workshops they have always included at the festival. They will be running from 6 p.m. through to 11 p.m. each evening for festival goers to participate in. Individuals and groups from the tri-community will be running workshops on yoga, campfire stories, hair wrapping, charcoal face sketches and more.

“Planning for this year’s Ramble has gone very well,” Burr explained.

“We have a very strong, talented and dedicated board that have all put a lot of time into planning this year’s Ramble. We are also thankful for great support from the tri-community, whether it is through partnership, sponsorship or volunteering. We benefit and are building on previous years of participation and growth that have made the festival what it is today.”

Anyone interested in volunteering at the event are encouraged to reach out to organizers. The festival is located at Potato Lake, and people can go to the Napatāk Ramble website for more information on the location, signing up to volunteer, bios and videos of performers, our sponsors, tickets and more.”
