Two murder cases adjourned in Melfort Provincial Court

A pair of local murder cases were on the docket in Melfort Provincial Court on Monday.

Cody Chubey, 35, briefly appeared via video and his case was adjourned to July 8 in Melfort.

Chubey is charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of his long-term partner Danielle Dobersheck in Melfort in March.

A Naicam man charged with killing a relative will also make another court appearance next month.

Fifty-seven-year-old Kevin Swanson was charged with second-degree murder after an incident in May.

Melfort RCMP responded to a call about a serious assault at a home on Third Ave. N. in Naicam, and upon arrival they found an injured man.

Dennis Swanson, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kevin Swanson will also remain remanded until his next court appearance July 8.
