RCMP charge two women after homicide on Hatchet Lake First Nation

Two women face charges after a death on Hatchet Lake First Nation in northern Saskatchewan.

Wollaston Lake RCMP were called about someone being seriously injured at a home on the First Nation on Saturday and determined the man had been taken to a local clinic, where he later died of his injuries.

The investigation determined the injuries occurred due to an altercation between a group of individuals, and the victim has been identified as 42-year-old Christopher Joseyounen from Hatchet Lake First Nation.

A woman was arrested at the scene, and RCMP arrested another woman the following day.

Facing one count each of second-degree murder are 36-year-old Tricia St. Pierre of Hatchet Lake First Nation and 18-year-old Tinnisha Josie from Wollaston Lake.

Both are slated to appear in court in Wollaston Lake on Wednesday.
