Clean-up continues in Carrot River as State of Emergency is lifted

Jul 2, 2024 | 3:00 PM

The town of Carrot River continues to clean up after the major storm in the area late last month.

The declared State of Emergency in Carrot River was declared over on Monday.

The town will continue to collect storm debris, and they advise residents to pile their fallen trees cut into small sizes, and branches, close to their property along the street and back alley. According to the town, there are no set dates for pickup, and the piles “will be removed in an ongoing manner until a later date.”

The storm also damaged and displaced garbage and recycle bins, and the town will take inventory of bins July 8. All residents are being asked to put their bins at the curb for inventory by 8 a.m. on that date. The bins will be inventoried, misplaced bins will be returned, while broken bins will be replaced.
