Traffic safety grants awarded to local communities

Several local communities are getting funding for traffic safety-based programs.

The Provincial Traffic Safety Fund grants are being handed out to 55 projects across Saskatchewan,totalling $1.3 million.

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Bjorkdale will receive $8,760 for speed bumps at Marean Lake.

The Town of Kinistino is earmarked for $8,372 for a highway speed awareness project.

Just under $7,500 will go to the RM of Pleasantdale for digital signs at Kipabiskau.

A traffic speed project in the town of Wynyard will receive $4,186.

The Provincial Traffic Safety Fund grants use proceeds from photo speed enforcement and are awarded twice per year. The fund was established in 2019 and has now provided $11.5 million in grants.
