Woman charged after stabbing on River Street

A 20-year-old Prince Albert woman has made her first court appearance on a charge of aggravated assault.

The Prince Albert Police Service Proactive Policing Unit arrested Jasmine Denton two days ago in connection with an incident on River Street on June 28.

Officers said they were called to the Corner Stone district to help a 26-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times.

Investigation revealed the assault happened outside a business in the Unit Block of River Street West.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

The accused was identified by video surveillance and arrested in the West Flat area, on 18th Street on Tuesday.

She made her first court appearance on Wednesday in Prince Albert Provincial Court and will be back on Monday.
