Two men charged after shooting in Sturgeon Lake

Two men are behind bars after a shooting on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation on July 8.

RCMP said two people approached another group who were walking around the community.

An altercation happened and one man was shot, receiving injuries that put him in hospital but are not life-threatening.

Prince Albert RMCP began patrolling the community and got a warrant to enter one home.

With the help of the Critical Incident Response Team, two men were arrested July 14.

A 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Sturgeon Lake are facing multiple gun-related charges.

The 24-year-old man is also charged with assault with a weapon and discharging a gun while being reckless.
