Aces and Astros making their mark at Western Canadian Championships

The Prince Albert U15 Aces softball team is heading into the third day of play at the Western Canadian Championships in North Battleford with a record of one win and two losses.

Their next match is against the Calgary Adrenaline at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning. There are 10 U15 girls teams from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Yukon participating.

Meanwhile, the U13 Astros from Prince Albert are undefeated in round robin action.

Saturday afternoon the team took a 9-2 victory in the 1st v 2nd game against the Cross Lake Red Sox team from Manitoba to advance to the gold medal game Sunday afternoon.

Many of the players on the U13 Astros team in Brandon are part of a core group that has won three provincials together.

The U15 Astros will be heading to Quebec for the National championships which begin Aug. 14.
