One man dead following fatal rollover in Bell’s Point

A 20-year-old man is dead following a rollover near La Ronge on Saturday.

According to an RCMP media release, on Aug. 24 at approximately 6:45 a.m., police received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Lagoon Road near Bell’s Point.

Officers responded immediately along with local EMS. A passenger in the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene.

He has been identified as a 20-year-old male from La Ronge. His family has been notified.

The driver and a second passenger were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

As a result of continued investigation, 24-year-old Terrance McKay from La Ronge is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, operation while impaired causing bodily harm, and dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm.

McKay appeared in court in La Ronge on Aug. 26. La Ronge RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
