House, vehicle fires at James Smith Cree Nation

The Kinistino Fire Department responded to a fire at the James Smith Cree Nation on Monday.

They received a call about a structure fire and two vehicle fires shortly before 5 p.m.

When crews arrived, a water truck with a water pump put out the house siding, which helped prevent the fire from extending to the structure.

Crews extinguished the two burning vehicles on-site, and checked the attic of the house to make sure there was no fire that spread inside.
