House fire deemed non-suspicious

A house fire in Bell’s Point on Aug. 22 has been deemed non-suspicious.

That’s according to La Ronge Regional Fire Department Chief Keaton Cloud, who explained firefighters were called alerted to the blaze at 9:48 a.m. and were on the scene for three hours.

Due to the extent of damage to the structure, the exact cause of the fire was not determined. The investigation has since been closed.

“Initial reports indicated that two individuals were reported to still be inside at the time of our arrival,” Cloud said.

“Our initial focus once we arrived on scene was to complete a rapid search of the home. RCMP roughly 20 minutes after had located the missing individuals safe at another location. Once determined the structure was clear of people, our primary focus then shifted to fire suppression.”
