NLSD issues call for nominations to serve on board

The Northern Lights School Division (NLSD) has opened its call for nominations for board members.
The public has until Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. to submit their nomination if interested in serving. In total, there are nine subdivisions represented within the Northern Lights School Division and each elected board member will serve a four-year term.
Subdivision 1 includes La Loche, Subdivision 2 includes Buffalo Narrows and St. George’s Hill, Subdivision 3 includes Jans Bay, Cole Bay and Beauval, Subdivision 4 includes Green Lake, Subdivision 5 includes Stony Rapids, Subdivision 6 includes Pinehouse Lake, Subdivision 7 includes La Ronge, Timber Bay and Weyakwin, Subdivision 8 includes Sandy Bay and Subdivision 9 includes Cumberland House.
In 2023, the NLSD had 267.5 full-time teachers, 25.5 principals or vice-principals and 300.5 educational support staff. In total, it has nearly 700 full-time employees.
